The Associate Clinical Director of Shelter will join one of the largest providers of services to homeless families in Massachusetts. Hildebrand is an independent nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization that serves over 300 homeless families each year. The organization helps families transition to self-sufficiency through the provision of emergency shelter, transitional support and stabilization, housing search, advocacy, and case management. Hildebrand operates over 126 units of emergency shelter via scattered sites and congregate living programs in several communities throughout the region; and operates three permanent housing buildings in Boston and Cambridge. The Associate Clinical Director of Shelter will sit in with the Programs Management team to assist in making an organization of 70 employees, and over $6 million budget a great place to work!
The primary function of the Associate Clinical Director of Shelter is to oversee Hildebrand’s Emergency Shelter program. Reporting to the Director of Programs (DP), the Associate Clinical Director of Shelter, (ACSD) is an integral part of the Programs team, and a key contributor to the organization. The ACSD plans and communicates with Director of Programs and broader management team to ensure the high functioning of daily emergency shelter program operations.
S/he, working in conjunction with the Director of Programs, the senior leadership team, and program staff ensures the organization achieves its intended impact on families by accomplishing annual goals and objectives. The Associate Clinical Director of Shelter is expected to accomplish this by managing the delivery of high quality services to families who reside scattered site, congregate living settings. The ACSD helps implement the programs, trainings (for clients and staff), and services necessary to address barriers to self-sufficiency.
Program Planning, Development & Implementation
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the organization’s Emergency Shelter program. Provide supervision and accountability for direct service delivery of direct reports.
- Provide clinical support and guidance to supervisors and their staff.
- Provide clinical consultation for staff.
- Organize and coordinate Trauma Informed Care, Client Centered, Motivational Interviewing, and Cultural competency in-house trainings.
- Provide statistical and programmatic information needed by the DP for ensuring timely billing of all contracts.
- As a member of the Programs Management Team, the ACSD will supervise, develop, motivate and lead in partnership with the senior leadership team to advance the strategic direction and help the organization achieve its intended impact.
- Master degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field and 5-7 years progressive management and supervisory experience in a human service environment.
- Clinical Licensure (LCSW, LICSW, LMHC) preferred.
- Clinical and biopsychosocial assessment skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Trauma Informed Care and Motivational Interviewing
- Current working knowledge of homelessness and Government funding state and federal Housing Subsidy Programs and Continuum of Care Programs.
- Must have demonstrated leadership experience, collaborating, and building and fostering teamwork.
- Experience in managing congregate and/or multiple locations in milieu based treatment setting a plus.
- Proven ability to successfully manage several projects simultaneously, quickness, agility, and ability to exercise sound judgment in managing a crisis.
- Experience working with people from broadly diverse ethnic, social and cultural backgrounds.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software including Excel, and must possess strong computer skills.
- Experience working with families experiencing homelessness.
- Bilingual- English/Spanish.
- ETO experience a plus.
This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week.
